Christine Sun

Dr. Christine Sun is a globally recognized technical and market expert in the filtration industry, with over 30 years of experience spanning academia and industry. As President of the World Filtration Institute (WFI), she brings extensive expertise, a strong global network, and deep knowledge of advanced filtration technologies to support the industry in next-generation product innovation, as well as team and business development. Her contributions to the field include over 100 technical publications and patents.
Dr. Sun has played an active role in developing air and liquid filtration test standards, including ASHRAE and ISO. From 2004 to 2011, she served as an R&D Manager at Freudenberg Filtration Technologies, followed by her role as Technology Director at Donaldson Company from 2011 to 2013. She also chaired the American Filtration and Separation Society (AFS) from 2016 to 2017 and has been recognized with multiple prestigious awards, including the AFS Fellow Award (2019), the Senior Scientist Award (2012), and INDA’s Best Paper Awards (2008).
In addition to her leadership roles, Dr. Sun serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Industrial Textiles. She earned her B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, and holds an Executive Certificate from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, USA.
